5 all your time under the bed." or "Bob, quit tickling Fran, can't you see she's phoning?" Fortunately the boy friend has a sense of humor and now he's quite disappointed if he calls Fran and doesn't hear anything from us. Thursday afternoon Helen Dike & I went to the National Art Gallery and had a most enjoyable time. The building is lovely, with fountains and gardens and lovely lighting, we saw some very fine exhibits, one which was loaned by the Louvre. Friday I went to Riverdale on the Greyhound bus. It took about a half hour & Mary Condon Arnold [ex-teacher in hometown of Waucoma, Iowa] picked me up at 10:30. We visited while she got lunch, the two smaller children, Merle and Mary Jane came & ate, and then we went for a drive around the University of Maryland. It is lovely, all out in the country and those beautiful red brick buildings with white columns and steps very tastefully located on the rolling, hilly campus. We visited some more, & then when the kids came from school, we had a sundae at the drugstore & I caught the bus back, getting in about 5. After that I saw a movie, with a very good stage show by Carlos Molina & his orchestra (South American), ate, & came home. Love, Helen
