Saving...
not for publication, as that sort of thing I'm not supposed to tell the public at large. It's not at all hard to "like people". I don't think I've had very many chances before to have any contact with men in large numbers, and I think they're swell. Up to now most of my work with people has been with women or children, which was one reason I thought this work would be good. How cute if Steve has pink hair! I wish I could see him. Isn't it nice of the Pardens to form a cheering section? I appreciate it. When does Nora expect to go, or doesn't she? I thought from what Fran said that recruiting was easing off. It is a lull just now as far as hospital workers are concerned, but the large numbers of able-bodied troops make club workers scarce. Funny how it changes from month to month. I got the Post & read Wil's story. I liked it, although not as well as Windragon Smith, which is still my favorite. Wish he'd get here again. Love, Helen Portrait of your daughter at 9:05 last night, neatly trapped by two patients and four crutches. I'm beginning to think crutches are an asset and not a liability!
