Saving...
3 went into the army. They are just full of the dickens by the time they have sat around the hospital a month or so. To answer letters 32 & 33; I stayed out a couple more days -- Saturday & Sunday, to be exact, because I had a slight fever and thought it would be safer. That was over a week ago, and I'm all right now except that my sinus is a bit drippy. No, I wasn't as scared as I was surprised in my little sketch. They wanted a nickel or a kiss, knowing darned well I didn't have a nickel. Things had reached a crisis when they heard the M. P. coming and scooted. One was Beech Clark, a fortress gunner & I don't know the other's name. I have a game of Battleship every evening with Clark & always lose. Of course it is all right to loan George the puzzles. I think you sent me my 3-ply one, though & I've packed it. Dr. I. Q. is to be out at Forest Glen for his next session. Listen to them even if I'm not there. Little Jack Little broadcast from there a few days ago, and his "off-the-air" jokes had them in the aisles. Maybe I'll have time to drop you a card tomorrow & maybe not. Don't be worried if my foot locker comes home, as we might have our luggage cut drastically. Take good care of yourself & I'll do ditto. Love, Helen
