Saturday February 26, 1944 Dear Mother, The missing letter turned up today, and I can't understand why it needed more postage. It didn't feel any heavier than the other. At any rate, I enjoyed it and will now answer it. If referring to your letters by number bothers the censor I'll leave it out in the future. I hope I'll be able to number mine, though, so you'll know if any are missing. Yes, I'm afraid you'll have to keep your guesses to yourself from now on. They aren't any safer to send by mail than details of my location or work would be. We'll have to wait to discuss anything like that till after the war. OK? The postscript about the gold fillings was in answer to an accusation I made on the application. I said a gold filling had been missing since I played cassino with him and I wanted it back.
