about it. No, I'm not working. I gave you a very sketchy idea of a day in my last letter. The food is fine -- served in those metal divided trays. We have lots of meat and vegetables, but not as much fresh fruit or milk as I'd like. You have to be careful not to smile at any particular man in the mess line or you're apt to find yourself with five pork chops as I did awhile ago. We have lots of fruit jello, which I like. The soup is usually tomato or mixed vegetable. I like the bugle calls. Taps has just sounded. I like that and reveille and retreat best. Time to go to bed now. Love, Helen
