Saving...
with the shelter facilities. The next day we cleared our sub-advances and had conferences at Nat'l Red Cross. We also ate at the officers mess in the Grosvenor House, which served the best food anywhere. That night we spent a longer shelter period, but had a good time and made friends with lots of people. The day after, Linden and I set off on foot, visiting a lot places we wanted to see like Trafalgar, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the abbey. Then after supper we walked home in the dusk by way of Berkley Square. The next day we went to services in Westminster Abbey which were very nice. Then we wandered along and an English fellow told us a nice place to eat, so we ate there. It was the Strand Corner House, with nice music and so forth. The food was very satisfactory, too.
