March 28, 1944 Dear Mother, I'll continue where I left off in the last letter and tell you more of what we did in London. I think I told you about going to Westminster Abbey and the Tower. Well, the next day we had several Red Cross meetings, so only got in a walk through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The birds were beginning to sing beautifully, and the almond trees werei n full bloom. The swans were lovely on the Serpentine, too. The next day I bought some French novels in the morning and in the afternoon Linden & I walked up Baker Street to Mme Tussaurds' Waxworks, which we enjoyed a lot. Then we taxied home, dressed up; even to white gloves, and went to a delightful tea which Mrs. Sloane Colts gave for us at Claridges. It was charming,
