store, or fruit hard candy, or what have you. Our ration of two bars of English candy a week just serves to annoy us. It has been quite rainy and I've been annoyed, because I lost my hat cover on the boat. I think I put it clear through my raincoat pocket, which has an opening to the inside as well as outside. They had some Red Cross supplies in London, but no havelocks. I should say I am glad I picked Red Cross. It's hard to say what home and peace will be like after this very exciting life which has now become routine. Maybe the other will be exciting. I just want to roar when I think of my worries about whether or not my suitcases were going to make the connection in Chicago. Right at the moment I have a suitcase, from which I've been living at least two months and our bedrolls & foot lockers have gone scooting off by mistake to Lord knows where. They say London, but I can't get
