April 14, 1944 Dear Mother, What fun I had last night when a whole bunch of mail arrived. I got six letters from you, with no gaps, and ending with the air-mail one you wrote after you got the telegram. I'm so glad they let you know promptly. It took only two days, incidentally. I'll try to answer what questions I can now, and make comments as I read over the letters. I'm glad Anita is so nice. I hope she will come out all night. You must really be spending most of your time at the Red Cross room. They actually got two recruits instead of one, didn't they? I'm glad you are interested and are meeting interesting people. Do you remember how we got in an extra trip on that first jaunt with Prof. Bush, on account of arriving at our destination a day or so early? Well, you might start turning your thoughts towards the other one [Oxford] that comes to mind.
