June 8th [1945] Hello Dave - I arrived here a week ago and it has rained here every day. I am permanent party here and I will work in Sgdn,, supply. I will be eligible for a furlogh in August. Cigarettes are rationed here now, six pkg's a week. I have gained about ten pounds since I saw you last. We sure had good "chow" out at Santa Ana,
