Tuesday Oct 16 1917 Dear Dot We are just about to leave, everything of our personal stuff has gone and we have our packs all rolled with orders to be ready to fall in 10 minutes after the whistle blows we will probably leave here some time tonight. The trip will take at least two weeks and maybe four so do not be alarmed if you do not hear from me for some time I will do all I can to write every other day but I dont know when you will receive my letters I have taken out $10,000 dollars life insurance it costs me $6.40 per month and is taken from my pay but we get a 20% increase in foreign service so my salory is now 36.00 but I am sending
