Sunday 1917 Dear Father. Received your fine letter last night and I was very glad to hear from you though I was sorry you were fooled by the report we had gone to Canada we were already and [?] up with packs but we didnt go we expect to go this week or we dont really expect it either but we heard we were to go but I dont believe (underlined) it. I am sending some pictures taken on boat and some more taken at the Palisades N. J. You can get a good idea of our bath from the picture. They just turned the hose on us and let her go and it was salt water so it was
