U.S. Fleet Hospital #111 c/o F.P.O. San Francisco August 1, 1945 Dear Dave Elder, Receiving your letter about the renewal of subscriptions. Thanks so much. I am hoping that by the time mine is up I'll be on my way back to the old country. If you saw the July 2nd edition of "Life" it had some good pictures about Guam and the progress in building roads, airstrips and villages in the past year. Its amazing what changes have been made. Haven't seen anyone from Washington out here in some time. Clyde Boise came up to the hospital just before he left for home. Really am enjoying your Scuttlebutt
