10 August '45 Dear Mr. Elder, Yes, its me again! Some where in the Pacific between the North and South Poles. That's all I'm allowed to tell you as to where I'm located. It's rather hard for me to write letters at the present, due to Navy Censorship Regulations which are in effect here. There are twenty-three of them and they really limit your writing. I'm at the same place Sutton is. I met him the first day I was here. We seem to follow each other around. Here lately the news looks pretty good. That new Atomic Bomb is really quite the thing! One of the biggest questions on our minds is: What will the Navy do with us when the war is over. Ninety-nine per cent of us are ready to go home any time. Tomorrow would not be to soon! This isn't a bad place here after you once become used to it. You'd hardly know your out of the States at times. You can start sending me the "Scuttlebutt" again. I'll
