Aug 22, 1945 Germany Dear Dave, I guess I'm a little over due in getting around to writing you this time. But I do have an excuse for it this time. you see I have been doing quite a little of moving around since I wrote you last. And if I remember correctly I wrote you last while I was still in the hosp. Since that time I have been doing a little traveling through Reinforcement depots trying to get back to my outfit. But I was sure in for a surprise when I reached this depot. It was bad news at that.
