Saturday, August 24-'45 "Pacific" Dear friend Dave, Well Dave, it seems as if our little slant-eyed friends have seen the light and decided to take the easiest way out by taking an un-conditional surrender. Tbat was the best news we have had for quite some time. When the Russians started breathing down their neck and Uncle Sam was almost at the top of the rope when he dropped one of thos atomic bombs, of course they had no alternative. By the "scuttlebutt" information their have been several local boys discharged on the discharge point system. Power to them. It looks as if the m Marine Corps has adapted a system now, so maybe it wont be so long. There is some activity going on here as yet, but very little to what has been, in the past few months. I guess there isn't a whole lot to write about until we have the censorship lifted, which shouldn't be long now. It will certainly be strange to seal your own personal
