Saving...
II Det. Serv. at Biggin Hill, England for 6 days to go to school. I was supposed to be going to school anyhow. I had one 48 hour pass & 2 days A.W.O.L. so I could see my wife. Then I went to Villa Camblay, France & took 19 more days of school. In the meantime my outfit moved over here to Y-80 air strip (near Wiesbaden) so when I went back to Y-74 air strip (near Frankfurt) it was quite a problem for me to find my little home again. We really have it nice here at Y-80. We live in several very large dormitories. From what I can gather, it used to be a Luft-Waffe cadet training field. It's really nice anyhow. They have just completed a new concrete runway here & it is the longest concrete runway in Europe 5550 feet long. Boy is it a honey. The latest rumor says I am army of occupation & that I am being transfered to the 51st. Troup Carrier Wing Signal Company. I am not leaving this field however so just send my Scuttlebutts as per usual. If I can get a day off some time I'm going to Pforzheim and see Banks if he is still there. If he hasn't got anymore points than I have, he will be there for some time. I have a grand total of 55 points. 4 battle stars (HAH!) 13 months
