[Letterhead: Philip R. Wanerus, U.S. Army Air Corps] Oct 8. 1945 OKINAWA Dear Dave, Tomorrow we start packing up for our move to Japan, so now while I am still a man of leisure I'll get my correspondence in. For about a month now we have been following a rather rigid routine. Arise at 0730, eat, go back to the sack again until dinner. Then an afternoon at our beautiful beach. At night we either read or return to the beach and have a bull session (with food) over a camp fire. However several days have been interrupted by journeys to Nago for beer and P-X supplies. The native village there is naturally off limits but we still have to drive through it, non-stop. Every night at six o'clock
