31st in the morning slept untill dinner at night went to Theater was very much pleased with the play entitled the Pioneer Patriot or the Maid of the War Path in which Mr H. Watkins played the part of Jacko the deformed negro & kept the house in a roar of laughter almost continually while he was on the stage. Apr 3d Seargt Hubbard, Sergt Sprague, Corp Beneway & myself take our rations to a house
