July 1865 5th in the morning we march to the soldiers home for Breakfast the most of us had been to breakfast already & did not go in those who went in said it was a poor meal poorly gotten up, we march back to the Northern Central r. r. depot on the way there came up a shower, the Col ordered us to Double quick but we could not see it
