Saving...
To Mr & Mrs W J Graham West Union Iowa Dear Dad & Mom: Had a nice letter from you today it was mailed the third and is the most recently written of any Ive received. we are still keeping pretty busy and things are going well. Im feeling fine but haven't had a pass yet or time off to look around much. In our newspaper we get, there is a section of the Readers Digest, it is in once a week on Saturdays and in the month we have the whole issue in four sections. It's very nice for fellows who wouldn't get to see it otherwise. I have been trying to read "Drums Along the Mohawk" but so far haven't made much of a dent in it, seems as tho I get a job every time I pick it up. You folks should have some of our mousquito nets if they are so bad at home this year, imagine all the rain and heat have made conditions for them very favorable. Doesn't seem as tho Dickey is big enough to mow all that lawn and he's right about that east parking it is miserably tough grass. I don't believe I have any snap shots at home of Richard Eley but there might be. Mom I really don't care for a fruit cake, thanks an awful lot anyway but I always did think they were a ruination of a lot of good stuff. I'll take some snap shots if I can but film is very hard to get unless a fellow has just the right size camera. The cherries are about gone now and we haven't had any for a week or so, boy would they have made a good pie, wow. The makers of C rations will never sell anything a G.I. anything when they get back to the states, may be nourishing but it isn't so hot. Love Johnny
