To Mr. + Mrs. W. J. Graham West Union Iowa Italy June 21 1944 Dear Dad & Mom: Got three letters from you today written the first sixth and seventh, had at least one in between as I dont always get them in the order they are sent. If summer came to Iowa with as nice a day as it was here it was very nice. So you have Anne with you now, does she stay there nights too or do her folks get her every night. I kind of figured Dickey might be overuled on the Bible school situation by his mother. I remember another little boy a few years back that didn't much like to go but usually did. I gave some blood today, the first I ever did, a long time ago they asked for some volunteers and I was typed and recorded etc but never called. Expect the fellow who gets it will start to put on weight and develop some strong scotch characteristics. Saw a magnolia tree in bloom yesterday it was certainly beautiful the blossoms were huge. We have some mosquito repellent that really works and some insect powder that is the best yet they say thank gosh I havent had any use for that yet but in a lot of camps I guess it is an absolute necessity. I've got oodles of razor blades I brought a great bunch and as yet could have bought all I needed at the P.X. I really dont need anything, stocked up on most of the necessities before hand and havent run out, later I will ask if I need anything. I'm glad you have Anne there expect it makes a little work but she is a nice little child and think she enjoys the visit. Will sign off for tonight. Love Johnny
