Saving...
One of the boys in my tent gets the American edition of Time sent to him every week, which I read. They are really stripped right down, absolutely no advertisements and no space wasted. They come first class mail in an envelope just like a letter so they are right up to the minute. Our food has been noticeably better this past week, we have a different mess sergeant who seems to be right on the ball and gets supplies better and prepares food much better. We had meat loaf last night which was really good and the gravy tastes like gravy and isnt nearly so wierd looking. Hope we keep him. Two of the fellows went to Rome today on a five day pass, surely hope one opens up for me as there must be lots to see there. Everyone wants a pass however and they are limited so I may not be fortunate enough. Never figured I was the lucky type. Must close for I've work to do-- Love Johnny. Mom - I need some fine lead for my Parker pencil which I cant get here. I'm not entirely out but will need some soon. One package will last a long time so thats enough if you can get it.
