Saving...
we dont drill any tomorrow. But I hardly think we will. The 127th MG. Battalion is busted up today. Our old C Troop of the Ia Cavalry is A Company in that Battalion. They go to fill up the 133rd & 134th Infantry and other units. I guess we are not going to be busted up as the Major announced some time ago. But we cant tell a thing about it. I want to nearly finish this before supper because the fellows will be talking more than ever afterwards so that I wont be able to write much. Gee, I'd sure like to be there to see those two baby girls. Can Lucille talk very much. Expect she can by this time. I got a long letter from Erna last night. Said she had had some more of her spells. But I suppose she has told you all about it. I tried to get a pass to go up town this afternoon but the Doctor wouldnt sign it. About twenty fellows were in the same fix. I havent been really hungry for about three days now. There is certainly oodles of mail coming in. I got a little Christmas card from Chas Mayer & family today.
