Saving...
when it was absolutely necessary such as eating, etc.---- Monday morning when we got up it sure was cold. The thermometer registered 7° below zero. How's that for a southern climate? We hiked about two miles with overcoats on and my feet and ears were all that got cold. Those gloves came Sunday and are just right. They sure are warm. We had shool for an hour in the morning too. Lt. Brown had charge and it was a regular geometry lesson. I never dreamed when I was studying geometry in High School that I'd ever need it- least of all in the army. But I sure wouldn't be able to get head nor tail to the schooling we're getting now without my knowledge of geometry.
