I suppose I should have slept till noon. The rest of the company went on a practise hike each man carrying a pack. I was hungry when I got up so went over to the canteen and ate a piece of cake -double layers and 4x3 with brown frosting - and a pint of milk. When I came back the fellows were all at school again. Gee a fellow ought to have a college education to understand the dope Brown - the Lieutenant- gives us at school. This afternoon we did nothing. Three of the fellows out of this tent are up town tonight so its real quiet, only the Corporal and myself are present and he, too, is writing. (Tattoo is just blowing so its nine oclock.)
