This being Wednesday afternoon we had no drill and I took a nice little nap of about two hours and a half. Yesterday I got out of drill all day. In the forenoon the quartermaster sergeant told everyone who had defective woolen breeches to fall in at 7:45 and get new ones. So we did (there was a bunch of us) and I now have two pretty good pair. The torn ones were those that I got at Lone Tree last summer. Then yesterday afternoon all the fellows who had not taken out $10,000 of the insurance went over to B Company's mess hall and were urged to take out the full $10,000. I already had half of it so I took out the remainder. Every month now I pay out $21.50 for Liberty Bonds and the Insurance. That leaves me $11.50. Next payday I'm going to have exactly
