Jan 25 1919 Corre, France Dearest Folks at Home: I received your letter written the 11 of November. It is the second one from home since I've been in this Division. I cannot tell you how shocked and grieved I was to learn of Ress' death for I had not even known he was sick. I can scarcely believe it yet. How I feel for Vera and the babies. Poor little Lucile will have but a faint remembrance of her Papa and baby Janet none at all. You don't know how hard it is to realize it, being so far away. How
