Saving...
tomato juice. Besides the other places, we have an entertainment hut with stage & movie machine that seats a couple of hundred. So you see we will keep busy. This morning I got up early & went in to see & hear the May day singing & folk dancing (in college courtyards or greens). Major Anderson picked me up at the gates & took me in. It was fun to see the crowds milling around & to join them. After supper Gen & I took a walk down the lonliest deep shady road that leads to town. There are grey walls covered with ivy on either side & the birds are lovely. Fruit trees are in full bloom, also lilacs and wall-flowers. The roses are coming along. I'm anxious to get the seeds planted, as there is plenty of place. Ask all the questions you want now. If I can't answer them I'll say so. Jane Shuttleworth is here in England, I saw by the R.C. news. She was at Walter Reed, Juliette & Fran are in New Guinea Juliette's letter says. Mrs. Sloan Colt is a society light - international! Love Helen
