After another half hour out for supper, I went to the lounge and stayed till about nine, visiting with the fellows and playing ping-pong. Then I went for a walk with Nellie, to get acquainted with her and find out some things about local contacts. When I got back we had a meeting till after eleven, trying to work out our policy in regard to the army Rehabilitation program. Our unit has a very agressive officer in charge of that, who wants to take over the arts and crafts and run them as classes with us as teachers. That, of course, is not a Red Cross function at all, so we have to work it out in a diplomatic way. Everyone else we have to work with is delightful. The transportation officer and the Special Services officer are honeys. The two packages of instant chocolate have come. I wish you could send some candy or cookies, as they go like hot cakes. If you haven't already sent the sheets and pillow case, it isn't necessary right now. If you have, however, I'll take care of them. When I wrote for them we had been sleeping in bare blankets for six weeks. Now we get issue ones and all is well. The chocolate has made us very happy on several occasions.
