Yes, that was quite a place. I'd like to go there again, & hope you can be with me. The corn should be unpopped, I think. We'll tend to the rest. I'm glad you sold the boots. Also that the farm is paying. I haven't even cashed my last check yet & it is almost time for another. I want to start a bank account (here). I had an enthusiastic letter from Helen [Fonda?] today about the garden. I'm so glad she likes to work in it. I'm glad [Nan's?] books got there. I haven't heard yet from Roberta but hope to [illegible] through too. I liked a "Tree Grows in Brooklyn". I read it in Washington. Mrs. Hutchins, our maid, planted some of the verbenas & asters in a little box today to transplant later into the window box. This odd climate makes it so that they are still having frosts.
