very good as it is powdered whole milk, with a creamy flavor and an ivory color. The whole expedition was fun. We get lots of fun out of the small, dangerous little expeditions and forays we make. Friday night Genevieve and I went for a bicycle ride. We were sorry we were "official", as we got lots of invitations to dances and things from the British and American G.I.'s we encountered. That's the drawback to officer status. Saturday Lin and I cleaned in the lounge all day. At night I went to the opening of the officer's club. It was lots of fun, although we were all too tired to dance and just sat around and visited and had drinks. Our liquor was rationed and each person had been supposed to buy his tickets before going. I forgot, but I did all right. In fact, I did better than if I'd bought them. Here is a list of my acquisitions, but don't get the idea that I was "spiffed" after them. I seem to be rather immune. I had Scotch and ice with Capt. [Giere?], gin and coke with Capt. Silverberg, some strange concoction with Capt. Carney, bourbon and soda with Elaine [Hervert?] and Pepsi-Cola with Col. Dyke.
