Saving...
liquid refreshments for our party. This afternoon I went to the dental clinic to have my teeth checked. They are O.K. and on the way back the boys at the back of the mess hall gave Jay and me two piping hot pieces of roast chicken. Um! We scurried home with them and gobbled them. We had some late last night, too. We couldn't go to the dance last night because we are all restricted to post. However, Joyce and I are going out on business tomorrow morning to hunt for a salvage depot where we can get aluminum scrap, plexiglass from bombers, etc. for the craft shop. It should be fun going around in a jeep or an ambulance and seeing the country. Almost time for the guests now. Could you send me another large package of food? We are getting low on instant chocolate and could use deviled ham, cheeses, and any number of bars. How about a package of raisins or figs if they aren't too scarce? Love Helen
