the right size for French. Also for holsters for captured German pistols and knives - and the tales they tell! Yesterday was Jay's birthday. I got her "white cliffs" today when we were in town, as I couldn't get in before. Last night Polly and I rode bicycle about twenty miles, which made me stop feeling stuffy. It was lovely. Then we had a pint of Scotch one of the officers had given to Jay, pineapple juice and steaks the mess hall boys had fixed for us. This morning we slept late, then shopped a little and then took a bus to another town (along side Abington I think) about eight miles away. We rummaged around curio shops & I got several things, including a pair of candlesticks for Johnnie's birthday, which is Friday. She, Lucy, Jay and I are going to a play that night. Love Helen
