Saving...
I think it would be an excellent idea to send the fifty dollars for the cemetery. It would save bother later and it is a nuisance. I probably won't accumulate any extra cash for a while, as I want to do a little souvenir shopping for friends. My, but it is tough - this army life in the show place of the E.T.O. Sunday evening Johnnie, Lucy & Polly came over and we served them iced juice (with cubes), roast beef sandwiches, coffee and frosted gingerbread cake (the boys made in the kitchen from the mix you sent). Monday night after the lounge closed Polly, Johnnie, Nellie Glass, Lin & Jay came over to the craft shop & we tied red & blue yarn on 3 cigarettes, making a favor for each bed patient's tray. Then we popped corn and made hot cocoa in the shop. The 4th, we had a party in the lounge, with local talent floor show and girls. It was very successful, and there were hundreds there. We served Coca-Cola & cookies, & the volunteers helped. Afterwards I took the pitchers back to the kitchen and came home with four pieces of chicken as booty.
