Saving...
"Attention! Bombs may explode," so we stayed toward the other side. A nice British officer assured us that before they started to fire they ran up a flag, but we didn't want to pose a lookout, so stayed away a bit. Children came and played cricket, people wandered around and sat reading books and families came out for a game or so of something or other. Three cute little girls were told by their mother to stay clear of something that she thought might be a small bomb, so the eldest, about five, would say to the others from time to time, "Mind the bomb, the bomb!" Love, Helen P.S. I hope your feet are coming along well. Remember when I had a similar growth? Your letter hundred and four came today. I could use more gingerbread mix fairly soon. I still have one unbaked. Right now I'd like non-sweet things like meats, peanuts, etc. best of all--Summer, I guess, H.F.
