After church we walked to Shottery by footpath again and lay around & dozed in the [illegible] and behind Anne Hathaway's cottage most of the afternoon. We also went through the house. Oh blessed abscence of tourists! Things are green, and fresh, and [illegible] and not all beaten down like a circus grounds. We had leisurely tea at a thatched cottage & came on home.
