Saving...
is absolutely packed. Since the closing many thousands have come unofficially to stay with friends. So shopping is out of the question even if I had time. It isn't a pleasure trip, you see, and although I'll keep my eyes open, I don't want to have to fill out any list or feel forced to do any shopping. I'd rather people just forgot me for the time being. We've had lovely weather lately - about ten days of it. I went bicycling one night with Polly and we took a picnic. It was lots of fun. That was the only night I was through work until dark. Three days a week I work from 8 AM till 10 PM with an hour for lunch and for dinner. The next morning after being on at night I don't go to work till about 9:30 or 10. If I'm not on in the lounge I'm through at 5. We usually don't get to bed very early because our room is popular. Polly and Johnnie especially like to drop in for a snack, also Genevieve Kizer and Lui and Helen C. I'm sorry about the burned mouth. That's what mollified me, although you may not think from this letter that I am too mollified! Love Helen
