My leave is all set for the 25th to Oct 2nd inclusive. I haven't heard from Maureen yet, but hope I will before I leave. I'm getting excited about it. I can't decide whether to cart hospitality rations with me or take the coupons they issue. I probably couldn't stagger with a suitcase full of fruit juice, canned meat, etc. I awoke this morning about eleven oclock to the sound of many planes flying low. I was proud of myself because before I looked, I knew just what they were. It was fascinating to see them appear out of the loose, floating mist and zoom lower. By mid-afternoon we heard where they went and heard the radio instructions to the Dutch on the occasion of the airborne invasion. Sort of a grandstand seat, isn't it? Time for bed now. Love, Helen
