Pictures - Joyce & I in front of quarters Polly & Gen in back of " Bunch of our nurses up in Wales. Great Orme in background. October 15, 1944 Dear Mother, No letter from you since thirty six, which was just a slip of paper with the clipping about Prof. Bush. Nice, but not very enlightening on your Wacoma Trip. Mail has been very slow lately, anyway. I'm very glad to say that Grace's brother has been able to convince the powers that be that he should stay where he is. Everyone is so glad. I can't decide when I wrote last, so will resume in the middle of the week. I loafed around Wednesday and then several of us went to see Pygmalion in the movie house near here. We had planned on a play, but delayed so long getting tickets that we lost out. Last night I went with Jay to dinner with some nice people [note in margin: Brodtmons in Minster Lovell; son Robert is soliciter in London] she had met who live in town. Just a family affair and very nice. They had a guest from London who wants us to call him up when we go in and he'll take us somewhere. Not much news and no answering to do, so I'll stop and play anagrams with Jay. Love, Helen P.S. I was sorry to hear of Willkie's death, weren't you?
