Saving...
There were such quaint and delightful poems in the church and on the tombs. Old spelling and such human glimpses. We visited a priory and then had tea at the Corner House in Burford. It is a beautiful town. The ivy was red on the grey walls and the streets curved up the hill so gracefully that every way you looked there was a lovely picture. After tea we took a bus. The Johnsons and Mrs. B. got off when we passed their respective places and we came on home. We're going again in a couple of weeks. They are such friendly and wholesome people that I like them a lot. Now to answer very briefly letters thirty seven to nine I found when I got back. Let Betty put what she wants in her locket. I thought a miniature of Eric & Ricky would be in keeping. It probably had a portrait in it. She's ingenious enough to think of something. I think Maureen would have to pay duty. Better send anything to me and I'll send it on. Glad you had such a good trip. I wish I could have gone too -- and then been back here! Yes, give the tiles to June, Gretchen & Kay & the salad set to Grace. I have an etching for her too. I'll send them from London early in November when we're going in for three days' spree. Yes, I like your plan for Mary's ring. The radio is in the lounge, one in office & lots in rooms. We get all you do, even World Series direct. Love, Helen
