Dec. 7, 1944 Dear Mother, I dislike these things, but if the air mail going west is as slow as that coming, I'd better use it. I'll write an air mail of doing and answers to your letters fifty to fifty two tonight later. I've had such delightful Christmas packages. Your number fifteen and sixteen came, along with number twenty. The little tree stands on our dresser. The stockings, candies and nail polish have been duly put to use. The pecan roll, especially, was delicious. We're saving the fruit cake for a time. The cocoa butter is making me beautiful and the bubble bath is making me purr. Thanks so much for all the nice little packages! Jay thanks you for everything too, especially the [Jalna?]. She and Polly helped me unwrap things. Love, Helen
