I went down to the Swan in the village (across the Windrush) to get Mrs. B's weeks supply of Victory stamps. We also had a cosy drink. On the way back we picked up the Jordans and Polly and at Whitehall we had a grand roast beef dinner, Yorkshire pudding and all, again. Mrs. Busby came over in the afternoon with her four year old Roger and one year old Clive. We had tea. Sybil Williams was supposed to come but we saw her in the village, and she was expecting her navy husband momentarily. Bobby took us to the station again after seven and we came on home. Polly came in after we had baths and we opened my six packages that had come Saturday before we left. There were your fifteen and sixteen (very nice), Stribleys, Claras, & Mary's delightful two of toilet preparation. You know what was in Claras and Marys, I think. In Stribleys were stationery, hose, Bath Crystals, a nice cake of soap, instant chocolate, hankies, hickory nuts, a wash cloth, pop corn, dehydrated soup and gum drops. Then yesterday came one from Grace & Jim with three kinds of cheese, 2 of Jello, tea and hard candy. Also a big box of Fanny Farmers candy from Parders and your number 20. It was a very nice box, with lots of good snack things. Monday night while I was still working in the lounge, Joyce phoned that Helen Crum (Room-mate in Washington hotel) was on her way out to the hospital. She was
