Saving...
No, dear, I won't get mad at you. That was when I was feeling the weight of the campaigns on my shoulders. Now we've all grown shells and nothing worries us. The whole unit is a tough, efficient one now and we can take in as many patients in one night as we used to have in the whole hospital without anyone's getting excited. I told Jay about the duck feet. She liked it. Jinny sent me some Belgian money. One of the patients gave me French money the other day and I have German money too. We are having a gala Christmas dance at the club Christmas night. It is to be a program dance with programs filled before hand and lots of new blood from the nearby air fields. Even if you love them, doctors aren't the most exciting lot in the world, so we are looking forward to the change. Our new secretary, Shirlea, was just in. I like her so much. She is a great addition to our staff. Headquarters thinks we're pretty important and sent us the best they had. I'm making you a needlepoint tea cosy. It should be done by the 4th, but if not don't worry. I'll send it eventually, along with the nice little tea spoons I picked up the other day. Love, Helen P.S. The picture is of Mrs. Brodtman, whom we visit at Whitehall. The child is Derek, son of one of the maids.
