Saving...
It's very handy, as Polly is the one who gives it, and I can stop in at odd times. I just waved at Claire Hemert who stuck her head out of the window across the "gap" to see some planes. I can't see them, but I know what they are, I think. These days we all have spirits that rise or fall according to the strength of the hum in the sky. Johnnie gave me the nicest little silver cup-like thing. I'll send it home soon, with the spoons and tea cosy and luncheon set of Mrs. Goddards. I think it would be nice on a tea tray with ginger or mints in it. Jay gave me a bunch of coat hangers (very precious and rare) and a land painted little panel of one of the buildings here. Polly gave me a set of three glass and silver holders - one salt, one pepper and one mustard, for our snack cupboard. Joyce gave me a lovely bottle of Apple Blossom toilet water, and Shirlea Martin a nice Charles of the Ritz sachet in Moss Rose. So even though I'd opened my things as they came, I did some Christmas Eve. Did you open things then? I concentrated hard on you at two o'clock Christmas morning. I thought maybe you might be giving me a thought about seven o'clock on a Christmas Eve. Were you? Was it cosy and nice as I thought of it's being? We had an excellent dinner yesterday. Tomato juice, turkey, dressing, mashed potatos & giblet gravy, asparagus, carrots, cranberry jelly, coffee, apple pie & ice cream, fruit cake, candy and applies. Love, Helen
