Saving...
the seat cover a beauty. I can hardly wait to use it. If I hadn't been working this afternoon I'd have done it. I'll write Betty soon, I hope. While we're on the subject, could you send me the book "Forever Amber", do you think I haven't seen it here and it sounds like the kind I'd enjoy reading this winter. I could give it to the library afterwards, also, if you happen to see a very nice silk or rayon white, long-sleeved blouse with the right kind of collar and no trim, would you get it for me? I don't mind spending ten or twelve dollars for it if it is nice. How I wish I'd made up that material I have. I'd want size sixteen. I feel the need of a dressy uniform blouse since we wear our uniforms all the time. I'm sorry you had to give away the etching. Those marked for you were carefully chosen and were matched as to print. I don't think they'd mean as much to anyone else. By the way, they all cost about four dollars apiece, so they were rather nice gifts. Did you tell people what they were if it wasn't on the picture? Maybe you can tell me which ones you parted with and I'll try to replace them. Maureen sent me a lovely water color of a Scottish scene on the Isle of Arron, which we could see from Hunters Quay. It is lovely, and I know you'll like it. It's an original, and quite well done. Did you hear a Christmas carol called "The Holly and the Ivy"? I heard it so much here and liked it.
