Saving...
Feb. 4, 1945 Dear Mother, A nice pack of letters to answer Of your new series one, two and four came day before yesterday, with one from Betty Schram. Then number three came yesterday, with one from Clara. As usual, just as soon as I bragged about not having a cold, I came down with one. I had today off anyway, and took Friday and Saturday to stay in bed and get over it, which I have. Jay brought me juice by the quart can, one of tomato juice and two of grapefruit juice, before I protested. Polly make me soup on her stove (ours doesn't work now) and Joyce brought me a slab of chicken from diner this noon. All in all, it was a rather nice cold, no sore throat or cough, just a temperature and woozy head. I suppose by this time you're over yours. I guess a person is very apt to get at least one of the things. I was disgusted, though, as today was perfectly beautiful and I should have been out at Whitehall with Jay and Polly. The weather has been miserable every time I've been there. No, I'm not using my French right at present and haven't had time for the (music?) either. Yes, I'd love a weaving outfit if you can get me one. Why don't you send that and some more hand cream for my birthday? The mystery books sound very good.
