Saving...
and I got back from our walk, Mrs. B. who had been cooking orange marmalade joined us and we went to visit a neighbor and her new baby. We had drinks and came home to dinner. Then we sat by the fire and visited till tea. After that I caught my bus home and poor Jay started hitchhiking back to her place. In her enthusiasm to come, she overlooked the fact that it would be Sunday and the trains didn't run as usual. I surely hope she got a ride, as her tonsils are giving her an ear infection. Next Wednesday Johnnie and I are going to London and meet Helen C. and her apartment mate for a play. We're going to see Anna Neagle in "Emma". Then we'll shop Thursday and come home. The weekend of the 24th Polly, Johnnie and I are going to Whiteall and Jay is going to try to make it too. No telling, though, now that she is out in the wilds. Box thirty four came just as I was leaving. I was delighted with the contents, especially the sardines. The horehound sticks always remind me of Grandpa Fox. Thanks a lot. The packing is an excellent idea. I got my bicycle back all oiled etc. It cost two shillings, which was fair enough. If you ever see any soap like Wrisleys, Cashmere Bouquet (big size) or any of those rather nice toilet soaps, I'd like some.
