Saving...
It makes a perfect gift, and I'm getting a bit low. Also I'd love some evaporated milk. I just got your letter thirteen about the tax blanks and the big envelope ditto Saturday. My, but they took a long time! I've also gotten nineteen, twenty, twenty one and v-mail twenty three. I'm very sorry to hear about Blanche and Lewis though, like you, not surprised. I swear it is impossible to live a normal married life when all your friends and neighbors are messing around with each other. California life is too hectic, too childish, and too unsettled. I don't know that it's all California either; from what I've learned from the men I meet by the thousands, I'd say it is a very rare one who has "one-woman" tendencies to any marked extent. It's really an eye-opener. I think she'd be better off, and Kenneth certainly would, to do as you said and clear things up. It's a shame. I'll look for Jack Logan. I don't think so. Tell Gretchen I loved the pictures and can't think why I failed to mention them. The apricots were excellent, so soft and fresh. Polly helped me eat them. The cocktail crackers have also made a great hit. By the way, can you get Nescafe? If you can, I'd like some very much.
