March 17, 1945 Dear Mother, I forgot to note in my diary when I wrote last but think it was after I went to Whitehall last weekend. I got a lovely birthday package from you and one from Stribleys & another non-birthday from you. Yours were thirty five and six. I think the blouse is lovely and it fits perfectly. Thank Grace for me; I think it was beautifully made. I was ever so pleased with the pretty nightie and robe. Thanks muchly. It is nice to have something fresh and springy to put on. I'm wearing my other nice nightie the last few nights as I've been entertaining. Aren't those 7-up bars nice, and interesting? They are new to me. All the candy was very good, and the dates and figs fresh and nice. I'm enjoying the Kotex to the utmost, too. You are just about meeting the demand 100%. I'm dickering with Lt. Patterson for some garden earth so I can plant my seeds. I sent Jay one of the packets of flowers, as I know she'll use it. Johnnie and I had fun in London. We went Wednesday afternoon. Our train was late so we just had time to meet Helen C. and have a bite at the R.C. Club. Then we went to see Anna Neagle in Emma. It was good, and refreshingly Jane Austin. After the play
